The end is near....

Great Blue Heron on piling
for our stay at Bellhaven, that is!  Almost hard to believe 7 months have gone by!  We were supposed to leave April 22nd, but our replacements were experiencing RV troubles and could not get here in time.  We were able to push back our campground reservations in San Francisco by a week, so we will be leaving Monday morning.

These past few weeks have been busy but fun!  The weather has been wonderful except for a couple days of high wind.  It was blowing so hard, it pushed a lot of the thule up on the beach (which we had to clean up, of course!) and it swamped the boat one of our guests had docked on the beach.

Glenn helped him get the boat off the beach, then spent most of the day helping him to suck up the water and muck from the boat.  Poor guy was here with his two kids during spring break!  It almost ruined their trip, but with Glenn's help they still got in a good day and a half fishing.  Much to Glenn's surprise, he gave him a new fishing rod to thank him for all his help!

This is the whopper!
Speaking of fishing, it has been a good month for Glenn!  The bass finally started biting and he caught his biggest fish ever - about 7 pounds!

We also have had some fun with our newest acquisitions.  Glenn got a frameless pontoon boat and I got an inflatable kayak.  I've always wanted to try kayaking and with the inflatable, we can take it anywhere.  Glenn will now be able to get out in the water to fish and not be restricted to bank fishing.

Right now he just has paddles, but once we are home, he will pick up his trolling motor and then he can really get around!
First rose of the season
Spring in this area is different here than at home in Ohio!  Of course, it has been warmer, but I have noticed the spring bloom seems to come all at once.  At home, we have a slow progression of  bloom starting with the forsythia and crocus then the tulips, daffodils, on to the magnolias and dogwoods.  Here, they all seem to bloom at once!  And the roses are blooming already!
Wouldn't you know, our last weekend here and 5 of the 6 cottages are occupied!  We are not used to having this many people around!  Plus, our next door neighbors are having a wedding in their beautiful yard tomorrow.  What a pretty place to get married with the lake in the background!

Well, I've gone on long enough for this post.  Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the first stop on our 2 month journey home!
