Bryce Canyon National Park

We chose the campground in Kanarraville partly for its central location to both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.  But it wasn't as central as we thought!  It was an hour and a half drive to Bryce.  But well worth it!  The drive was very scenic and Bryce was amazing!

Bryce Canyon was a new park for us. It's exciting to visit a new park and discover new treasures.  We have never been disappointed with our national parks!  We almost always stop at the Visitor Center first when we  get to a park.  It's a great way to get the "lay of the land", check for scheduled ranger talks and get my park "passport" stamped.

OH, WOW!  I had see pictures, but they don't do justice to the beauty of the spires and hoodoos found here!  We took the shuttle from the visitors center.  You can actually park outside the park and take the shuttle in,

We got off the shuttle at Sunset Point and walked up to Sunrise Point.  It was only a 15' change in elevation, but at 8000' it was enough of a challenge!  It was hard to stop taking pictures!  Everywhere you look is another beautiful sight!
.

The area we view on this visit is called the Amphitheatre.  There are trails down into this area, but we would not attempt them this visit.  Glenn's cold was making it very difficult for him to breathe at this altitude.  Maybe our next visit we will try.  I think it would be cool to look UP into all this beauty!

A tenacious tree!

We had lunch a café in the park and then Glenn decided he had to get to a lower elevation so he could breathe.  About that time, it decided to start raining.  It was pretty chilly and windy, so we didn't want to add wet clothes to the mix!  We left with plans to come back another day.

I sure hope you enjoy following us along our journey this summer!
