On to San Francisco!

Sunday, April 28, was our last full day at Bellhaven.  We finished up some odds and ends at the resort and finalized our packing of the motorhome.  Amazing how spread out you can get in 7 months!
In the afternoon, we attended the wedding and reception of the daughter of our next door neighbors.  It was a beautiful ceremony held in their gorgeous lawn with the lake as a backdrop.  During the reception, we talked to a couple getting ready to RV to Alaska.  It's always fun to talk to fellow RVérs!
Our summer replacements arrived, so we compared notes about the resort and then went to dinner at the local casino.
We turned the motorhome around without too much trouble, drove down Soda Bay Road to a large turn-out and hooked up the truck.  We were on our way by 10am.
Our route took us down Highway 101 and we pulled off on a wide spot for lunch just before getting to the Golden Gate Bridge.  Glenn was not looking forward to this!  To him, motorhomes and bridges don't belong together.  But it turns out, that was the easy part!

The GPS and our directions didn't quite match.  I was watching the GPS and missed a sign and instead of heading south on Hwy.1, we ended up driving right through downtown San Francisco!  The first street the GPS told us to turn down (to correct our route) was one of the hilly side streets!
Besides not being able to make the right hand turn, there was no way Glenn was driving up THAT street!  We eventually ended up on I-280/1 and our way to Pacifica.  We had reservations at the San Francisco RV Resort.  The campground is basically a paved parking lot with a pool and hot tub.  But it overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is easy access to San Francisco.  Not every day do I sit on the couch, look out the window and see the ocean!
